As could be guessed, any coworking outfit\u2019s primary expense is the space.\u00a0 Our space requirements drive the budget.\u00a0 Our budget drives our pricing levels.\u00a0 So now might be a good time to look at our coworking survey<\/a>.\u00a0 It remains open and continues to gather data, but here\u2019s a quick snapshot based on 59 responses.<\/p>\n

Also, from time to time, people ask us about our survey results.\u00a0 Well, we have no secrets, so for those who have asked, this post\u2019s for you.\u00a0 I\u2019ve taken out the free-form answers.\u00a0 There\u2019s a couple demographic-type answers at the end.<\/p>\n

Some takeaways:<\/p>\n

Amenities such as meeting space and furnishings are not as important as more intangible draws, such as atmosphere, networking and collaboration opportunities, and a sense of community. Fewer amenities to start with is of course cheaper, but those intangibles are much harder to fabricate.\u00a0 Of course, location and cost are very important.<\/li>\n

Most people would pay less than $100 for a part-time membership, and less than $200 for a full-time membership.\u00a0 And there are 9 people who would be extremely likely to pay for a membership.\u00a0 (You 9 will be hearing from me soon!)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
